Child Safety Policy

Most people on The Student Buddy are school students, so keeping them safe comes first.

• Approved Study Mates only. Nobody can answer students' questions until we've approved them as a Study Mate.
• No live chat. Study Mates answer with a recorded whiteboard explanation, and the recording is deleted after the student watches it.
• No personal details. Nobody may ask a student for their phone number, address, photos or social media, or try to contact them outside the app.
• Parents can see progress. A linked parent account shows a student's streak, days studied, quizzes taken and chapters opened.
• Reporting. If anything on The Student Buddy makes you uncomfortable, tell a parent or teacher and email us at mudit.bhalla1@gmail.com. We take every report seriously and can remove a Study Mate or account straight away.

If a child is in immediate danger, contact the police on 112 or Childline on 1098.

For Parents

The Student Buddy helps your child revise what they're taught at school. It supports school; it doesn't replace it.

• Your permission. If your child is under 18, they should use The Student Buddy with your permission.
• Parent accounts. Create a parent account and link it to your child's username. You'll see their streak, days studied, quizzes taken and chapters opened, and you can share a progress report or send a reminder to revise.
• What we collect. Your child's name, username, school, class and section, their study progress, and anything they send in the app. The Privacy Policy has the full details.
• AI features. The AI Tutor answers questions about the chapter your child is reading, with a daily limit. AI answers can be wrong, so it's a revision aid, not a replacement for a teacher.
• Deleting data. Your child can delete their account from Settings, or you can email us to see or delete their information.

Study Mate Guidelines

Study Mates are classmates, seniors or tuition teachers who know a subject well and explain it to students who are stuck. If you're a Study Mate, you agree to these guidelines.

• Answer the question that was asked. Keep your explanation focused, clear and correct. If you're not sure, don't guess; leave it for someone who knows.
• Teach the method. Explain how to get to the answer, so the student can solve the next one on their own.
• Keep it appropriate. Use friendly, respectful language. Your recording should be about the subject and nothing else.
• Protect privacy. Never ask for or share personal details, never try to contact a student outside the app, and don't show your own contact details or social media in a recording.
• No promotion. Don't advertise tuition, courses, products or other apps.
• Unpaid for now. Being a Study Mate is free and unpaid at the moment. If earning is added later, separate terms will apply.

Students can rate your answers. We can pause or remove a Study Mate who breaks these guidelines or gets repeated poor feedback.

Content Policy

• Our notes. Chapter notes, quizzes, flashcards and sample papers are written for the CBSE syllabus. They're prepared with the help of AI tools and reviewed before they're published.
• Mistakes. If you find an error, report it with the feedback option in the app and we'll fix it. For official material, check your NCERT textbook and your school.
• AI answers. AI Tutor answers and summaries are generated automatically and can be wrong. They're there to help you understand, not to be copied as exam answers.
• What you upload. Only upload notes and images you have the right to use, and that are about your studies. Nothing inappropriate, hateful or personal about other people.
• Recorded classes. Recorded lessons are shared so students can revise from them. Don't share or repost them outside The Student Buddy.
