Terms of Use
Last updated 12 September 2026
The short version
- The Student Buddy helps you revise what you learn at school. It doesn't replace your school, teachers or textbooks.
- Be kind, be honest, and don't misuse the app or other people's information.
- Notes, quizzes and AI answers can contain mistakes. Check with your teacher if something doesn't look right.
Agreeing to these terms
By using The Student Buddy (thestudentbuddy.com and the app), you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you're under 18, you need a parent or guardian's permission to use The Student Buddy, and they should read these terms with you.
What The Student Buddy is
The Student Buddy is a revision tool for CBSE students. It supports what you're taught at school with notes, quizzes, flashcards, sample papers, recorded classes and Study Mates. It isn't a school, and it doesn't replace your teachers, your textbooks or your school's instructions. Always follow your school and the CBSE for official syllabus and exam information.
Accuracy
We work hard to keep the content correct, but mistakes can happen. AI Tutor answers and AI summaries are generated automatically and can be wrong. Use the feedback option in the app to tell us about anything incorrect. We can't guarantee any particular marks or exam result.
Your account
- Give accurate details when you sign up, including your class.
- Keep your password private. Don't share your account or use someone else's.
- You're responsible for what happens on your account. Tell us if you think someone else has used it.
Using the app fairly
You must not:
- Bully, threaten or upset anyone, or send anything rude, hateful or inappropriate.
- Ask for or share anyone's personal details, such as phone numbers, addresses or social media accounts.
- Upload anything that isn't appropriate for students, or that you don't have the right to share.
- Try to break, overload or get around the app's security or limits, or access accounts or data that aren't yours.
- Copy The Student Buddy's notes, quizzes or papers to sell or publish elsewhere.
Fair-use limits
Some features have limits so the app stays fast and fair for everyone. For example, the AI Tutor allows a set number of questions per student each day. We may change these limits.
Study Mates
Study Mates must be approved by us before they can answer questions, and they must follow the Study Mate Guidelines. Being a Study Mate is free and unpaid right now. If Study Mates can earn in the future, separate terms will apply.
Your content
Notes, questions and recordings you add to The Student Buddy stay yours. You allow us to store and process them so the app can work, for example to summarise your notes or send your question to a Study Mate.
Our content
The notes, quizzes, flashcards, papers, design and code of The Student Buddy belong to The Student Buddy. You can use them for your own studying.
Changes and availability
We're improving the app all the time, so features may be added, changed or removed. We try to keep it running smoothly, but it may sometimes be unavailable.
Ending your use
You can stop using The Student Buddy and delete your account from Settings at any time. We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms or puts other students at risk.
Liability
The Student Buddy is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses that come from using the app or relying on its content.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of India.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If you keep using The Student Buddy after a change, you agree to the updated terms.
